DOLLY PARTON SAVED MY LIFE
A new play by Taylor Dyson
Dolly Parton Saved My Life is a new project from Elfie Picket Theatre. A story about grief, family, women and complex relationships. Inspired by the music of Dolly Parton and the relationship working class women of Scotland have with American Country & Western Music. Live music and spoken word poetry help to tell this multi-timeline tale of family and finding yourself. We recieved Creative Scotland Open Funding for 2 weeks of Research and Development in Dundee. We were recently funded by Hilltown Community Centre to perform a staged reading of the play to coincide with Dundee Women's Festival. We are currently seeking interested community spaces and organisations interested in us performing the play as a free event later this year.
